Last week, I was interviewed by a British journalist who said “I think Viagra should be the answer to erectile dysfunction”. He said that was exactly what the drug company had been trying for – “a drug that’s really effective”. Does Viagra really work? Yes. Do the other drugs work? But is there any evidence that Viagra does or does not work for erectile dysfunction? I thought I was going to ask him something and he replied: “You’re not going to know unless you read a lot of literature.”
Now I’m going to give him an answer: “No. Viagra should not be used by men over 18. It should only be used by men with erectile dysfunction.”
I know that sounds stupid, but is there any evidence that Viagra actually works for erectile dysfunction? But is there anything I can do to help?

If you need to get up at the wrong hour, I don’t think I would recommend taking Viagra. You can also ask your GP about alternative treatments and talk to a sexual health clinic about what you can do to improve your sex life.
